BJP Yuva Morcha slammed Odisha government on Saturday over Orissa High Court’s ruling to scrap the merit list prepared by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in the State secretariat.

While hearing petitions alleging irregularities in the examination, the court on Friday ordered publication of a fresh merit list on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the written examination, within two months.

In response to the Court’s order, the youth wing of the saffron party on Saturday lambasted Odisha government alleging the State government is playing with the future of lakhs of highly-educated youths.

“Orissa High Court has scrapped the merit list for recruitment to the posts of ASO due to a fault in the examination procedure. The Court has further ordered for publication of a fresh merit list within two months. Is it their model of good governance? Is it the transparency of their 5T model?” asked BJP Yuva Morcha President Irasis Acharya.

However, no State government officials were available to comment on BJP’s allegations.

Notably, Odisha government had drawn flak earlier over irregularities in the appointment of Home Guards in the State. Several teachers have also been found joining schools by producing fake certificates.
