BJP National Vice President and party’s Lok Sabha candidate for Kendrapara, Baijayant Panda on Friday visited the bereaved families of lightning strike victims at Talakusuma Panchayat under Garadpur block in Kendrapara district. 

Baijayant Panda along with Patkura MLA candidate Tejeswar Parida met the family members of deceased Ashutosh Jena (17), Siba Prasad Sahu (65) and Purna Chandra Chhatoi (70) at Bangari, Baruna and Pundilo villages respectively who were killed in lightning strikes on April 16. Baijayant Panda expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members.

After meeting the families, Panda said, “We came here to offer our condolences to the bereaved family members and to assure them that we are with them through thick and thin.”

“Baijayant Sir came to our house and assured us that he would extend all possible help to us.  We also narrated our problems and sought his help for another son’s future,” said Asutosh’s father, Adhira Jena with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Baijayant Panda also met the grief-stricken family members of Sebak Rath of Talakusuma village, who drowned in the Chitratpola River while taking a bath.
