BJP to announce name of its Rajya Sabha candidate soon

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha will announce the name of its Rajya Sabha candidate in a day or two, informed State party president Manmohan Samal on Friday.

According to Samal, the Parliamentary Board of the saffron party will announce the name of the candidate as soon as possible. The party candidate will file his/her nomination papers before August 21.

As per sources, a meeting will be held in New Delhi on Saturday for the party organizational election and Samal will attend the meeting.

The special meeting will reportedly be held in Delhi for the organizational election which is conducted every three years and the primary membership drive of the party which is held every six years.

After the completion of the special meeting in Delhi, another meeting will be conducted in the State. The organizational election of the party will continue for four months. Similarly, the drive for the primary membership of the party will also continue.

“Parliamentary Board will announce the name of BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate in a day or two. The candidate will file his/her nomination before August 21,” said Samal.
