While the Odisha government has drawn severe flak from various quarters for 5T secretary VK Pandian’s visits to various parts of the State in choppers to ‘hear grievances of people’, BJP has demanded a probe into the money spent for the purpose.

As per Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal, the Odisha government ‘cannot escape without informing the public about the expenditure regarding the 5T secretary’s visits to various parts of the State in chopper’.

Samal said that the chopper is being booked in the name of ministers. However, the secretary is visiting various parts of the State in it. So, a thorough probe into the matter needs to be initiated, he demanded.

The senior saffron leader further stated that the State government will not order an investigation into it, and hence, a probe by a central team needs to be done.

“So far, Rs 18,83,000 crore has been looted. An individual can’t be the CMO. The chopper is being booked in the name of ministers, but a secretary is flying in it to visit various parts of the State. A thorough probe will be initiated into the incident at appropriate time,” said Samal.

“People now understand everything. They will give the right answer at the right time. A proper investigation will be initiated into the incident through a proper forum. The State government will not be able to escape,” he added.
