BJP President JP Nadda tears into 'outsourced' administration in Odisha, asks who's running govt

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President on Friday slammed the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government by alleging that the entire administration has been outsourced.

Nadda was here in Odisha’s Bhawanipatna to present the report of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in the last 9 years. The BJP National President tore into the BJD by questioning who is running the government in Odisha.

“Who is the leader, we do not. We don’t know whether there is any leader or officer is running the show. Here nobody listen to BJD MLAs and MPs and only officers are ruling. Naveen Patnaik has sublet everything to officers. The total administration has been outsourced here,” said Nadda without naming anybody.

According to Nadda, everybody knows who is running the government and it is not leaders or Naveen Patnaik.

“Do we want such government in Odisha? People of Odisha vote for someone while another dictates. Time has come to ensure that we form government both at the Centre and here in Odisha,” he said.

The BJP President further alleged that corruption is now rampant in Odisha. He said Odisha has the lowest per capita income while farmers’ income is low and the exploitation of women is also high in the state. Nadda added that 50 per cent commission rule is dominating here while the remaining 50 percent is utilised on ground.

“Naveen Babu had here announced to provide cold storage in each block and irrigation facilities for 35 per cent land. Had it been done? Such government doesn’t deserve to remain in power. Changing names or hijacking central schemes will no longer help," the BJP chief said.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Corruption in Odisha

BJP National President JP Nadda said 4 crore houses have been allotted under the scheme and 72 lakh houses sanctioned for Odisha. The process for completion of 29 lakh houses has started here.

“At a time when Modi ji provides 75 lakh houses, there is corruption and the beneficiaries are neglected and the ineligible ones are getting the benefits. I will urge Centre to order a probe so that the truth comes out. Those eligible get houses and those indulged in corruption will be sent to jail,” said Nadda.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana

The Naveen Patnaik government doesn’t want that the Ayushman Bharat benefits reach the people of the state, alleged Nadda.

Nadda Slams Congress

The BJP President said the Congress is misleading people by raking the issue of inflation and poverty. Presenting facts, JP Nadda said the growth rate in France is 6.8 per cent, 5.9 per cent in United States, Brazil 4.6 per cent, Canada 4.5 per cent, South Korea 4.1, Germany 2.6 per cent while the growth rate of India is 8.7 per cent. The inflation rate in United States is 4.9 per cent, Australia 7 per cent, United Kingdom 8.7 per cent and the inflation rate in India is 4.2 per cent, said Nadda.

Speaking on the occasion, Odisha BJP President Manomohan Samal said, “Every year, we present a report card before public detailing what we have done in the past one year and it has been a trend for the last nine years under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. It reflects what we had promised and what we have done or achieved.”

Samal said Kalahandi was earlier the face of drinking water shortage and poverty and PM Modi has addressed the basic issues. Be it mega water supply or PM Awaas Yojana, efforts have been made to improve the lives of the people, said Samal.

“We need to work for a double engine government in Odisha as the money released by PM Modi at the Centre is not being utilised by the Odisha government and it is hijacking the schemes as well. We need 5 years term and we promise that we will double what ever has not be done in the last 25 years. All the money sanctioned by the Centre will be utilised for the poor if BJP comes to power at the Centre as well as in Odisha,” Samal added.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “PM Narendra Modi’s government has set an example and new chapter has been added to the India and USA ties. The BJP-government at the Centre has undertaken a lot of measures to improve the lives of people in Odisha through various schemes. The MSP of paddy has been hiked by the Centre but the farmers not getting the benefits due to an inefficient, corrupt and insensitive government in Odisha. The youths from Kalahandi and Nuapada are migrating to other parts of the country for livelihood.”

BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda said, “The entire world is praising India and Prime Minister Modi. The world is following India for what it is deciding or what action it is taking during any emergency situation.”

According to Panda, the remarkable progress made in the country is being widely discussed and praised around the world. “The pace of developmental works is more in states wherever there is double-engine govt. I hope that the people of Kalahandi will support the clarion of double engine government in the state,” Panda added.
