Upon receiving information, Khordha Town Police reached the spot and have launched an investigation into the incident.

Earlier in June this year, a local BJP leader from Angul district sustained critical injuries after being attacked near a village pond. The victim, Tapan Sahu, was a former panchayat president at Rohila village under Pallahara subdivision.

As per the allegations, Sahu was struck with iron pipes by a group of unidentified men from the same village, leaving him unconscious on the spot.

He was initially rushed to a local hospital before being shifted to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He suffered deep injuries to his head, eyes, and arms.

Sahu was found lying unconscious near the village pond by local passersby, who then alerted his family. His relatives later filed a complaint at the nearest police station, naming certain local individuals as suspects behind the assault.
