With the crucial 2024 general elections barely months away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come up with a mega plan to reach out to new voters, mostly youngsters. Coinciding with National Voters Day tomorrow, the Saffron party will organise a new voters’ conference at 250 places in Odisha.

Similar programmes will be organised at 5000 places across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to a large number of young voters on National Voters Day.

The BJP has targeted to organise the event with over 1000 young voters. According to the BJP, young voters played a key role in electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister in 2014 and his re-election in 2019.

There is excitement among the young voters to elect Modi for the third consecutive term. Hence, the BJP wants to capitalise on the opportunity to attract young voters into its party fold. Through this programme, the BJP plans to highlight the schemes and other welfare initiatives introduced by the Modi government for the youths.

“A youth’s role for the country and how he/she can discharge duties and meet the challenges is of prime concern. On National Voters Day, with 1000 new voters at 5000 places, a grand conference will be held. In Odisha, such events will be held in 250 places in 147 Assembly constituencies,” said BJP Yuva Morcha President, Abhilash Panda.

Panda said that there is excitement among the youths to listen and interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The vote of youths will play a crucial role in the coming elections, he added.

BJD MLA, Bhupinder Singh said, “New voters are very clever. They know that today they are being approached only for votes. It is only CM Naveen Patnaik who will help them by creating New Odisha and Yuva Odisha.”
