A violent clash erupted between BJP and Chhatra Congress workers in Bhubaneswar's Master Canteen square following protests over Rahul Gandhi's anti-Hindu statement. Despite police presence, the situation escalated to stone pelting before additional forces controlled it.

Clash at Master Canteen

The Master Canteen square in Bhubaneswar turned into a battlefield when members of the BJP and Chhatra Congress clashed on Tuesday.

As per reports, the BJP workers were staging a protest at Master Canteen against Rahul Gandhi’s anti-Hindu statement in the Lok Sabha yesterday. As they were sloganeering holding a photo of Rahul Gandhi, the Chhatra Congress members present at the Congress Bhawan, located nearby, rushed to the spot and in no time, the place turned into a battle zone with each side resorting to stone pelting.

The situation went out of control even though there were policemen deployed at the spot. The clash continued for about several minutes.

Later, additional forces were rushed to the spot. At the time of filing the report, the situation was said to be under control but palpable tension was still prevailing on the spot.

“If Rahul Gandhi doesn’t apologise, every Indian and every Hindu will oppose him wherever he goes,” said a BJP worker.

Congress leader. Yasir Nawaz said, “To protest is everybody’s right. But the way the BJP is protesting has never been seen in the past. Those we have voted them to power will reject them."
