BJD’s MP candidate Ranjita Sahu acted as ‘Bibhisan’ and joined hands with BJP: Former MLA Latika Pradhan

The 2024 election debacle has opened a plethora of simmering resentment that is brewing within the BJD and also the differences between party leaders. This was again evident after former MLA Latika Pradhan on Wednesday made some shocking allegations against party’s Aska MP candidate Ranjita Sahu.

Pradhan today alleged that Ranjita Sahu acted as ‘Bibhisan’ and played a crucial role in the defeat of BJD in Ganjam by joining hands with the BJP in the last elections. The former MLA today met party president Naveen Patnaik and brought such allegations against MP candidate Ranjita Sahu. She has alleged that Sahu worked against the party in Kabisuryanagar and Aska Parliamentary segments.

“Ranjita Sahu had worked with the BJP in the last elections and she is doing the same now. I have urged Naveen Patnaik to take appropriate action else the situation will aggravate,” alleged Pradhan.

Pradhan further alleged that from Biju Patnaik’s time, the Aska Parliament segment had never gone to anyone. But due to such a candidate, the particular seat as well as MLA seats went to other parties.

“We have proof of video recordings of the public meetings and statements of her supporters claiming to have voted for BJP and will continue clearly show that anti-party activities were done. After the elections, she has not been given any task by the party. However, I have been assigned several responsibilities,” Pradhan added.

Responding to the allegations, Ranjita Sahu said, “Whatever issues are there, we will inform it to our party president. I have not heard what statements have been made against me. I will first listen and will apprise the issue with the party president.”

Sahu further said that already we have reviewed the election outcome and working on strengthening the party.
