MP's letter forged to seek admission

Bolangir has recently been in the news for fake certificates and garments. This time BJD MP Niranjan Bishi’s letter pad has been allegedly forged to seek admission to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya.

As per reports, initially, one Bipin Kusulia had urged the MP seeking admission for his daughter Shyama Kusulia in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya. However, the admission was given to one Ronak Kumar Patra of Patnagarh.

Suspecting something fishy, Bipin sought facts under the RTI. Later, it was found that the MP’s letter pad was forged and recommendation letter was issued in the name of Ronak Kumar Patra. It is surprising that the MP’s letter pad has no signature or date.

Under such circumstances, question remains how that the concerned District Education Officer could not sense something fishy in the MP’s letter.

“The MP’s letter was forged and recommendation has been pasted. Later, I brought the matter to the notice of the MP and he told me that he had recommended the admission of my daughter. I suspected that the DEO manipulated the letter,” alleged Bipin.

In the letter issued by the DEO, there are eight names of the candidates including Ronak Patra and Shyama Kusulia for admission to the school. The MP subsequently approved the name of Shyama for admission. However, a photocopy of the MP’s letter pad was made and the name was allegedly changed in favour of Ronak Patra.

When the matter was brought to the notice of MP Niranjan Bishi, he said that the matter would be investigated; and due action would be taken. “Only after a detailed inquiry, the truth will come out. If there is any kind of forgery, certainly, action will be taken,” said Bishi.
