BJD MLA Shashi Bhusan Behera faces egg attack in Kendrapara

Ruling BJD MLA and former minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, who was in the news recently following dowry harassment allegations by his daughter-in-law, had to face an egg attack during an event in Kendrapara on Tuesday.

As per sources, one person from the crowd hurled an egg at him while he was delivering a speech after unveiling the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Indupur. Luckily, the egg could not reach the stage and fell where Behera's son Satyaprakash was sitting.

However, it was not immediately ascertained who had hurled the egg and why. However, it is suspected that the egg was hurled over the alleged harassment of his daughter-in-law Ronali Behera.

Meanwhile, Banki police in Cuttack has registered a dowry harassment case against the senior BJD legislator, his wife and son following a complaint by Ronali who has also alleged physical and mental harassment.

No comments could be obtained from Behera or the local police regarding the egg attack.
