Junagarh MLA and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader, Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra was shown black flags by Congress activists while he was on his way to attend a programme on the occasion of Teachers' Day on Tuesday.

As per reports, the Congress members stopped his carcade near Narla in Kalahandi protesting his alleged involvement in the sensational Mamita Meher murder case and subsequent suicide of the prime accused Gobinda Sahu.

They demanded that Mishra should not be allowed on to the stage.

Two other MLAs, Bhupinder Singh and Pradeep Dishari were also accompanying Mishra when he was shown black flags.

The black flag-protest resulted in a face-off between the Congress and BJD supporters at the spot, which was later resolved when the police intervened.

No comments on the matter could be obtained either from Mishra or any other BJD leader.
