The infighting within the members of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Bhubaneswar is showing no sign of dying down. In a fresh development, the Conch party has issued show-cause notice to its four leaders for their ‘indiscipline’ activities in the party.

The show-cause notice has been served to Amaresh Jena, Biranchi Mahasupakar, Bikek Swain and Rajesh Patra.

BJD district president Sushant Rout has issued the notice to the leaders asking the party leaders to reply within 15 days on why disciplinary actions should not be taken against them.

Commenting on the development, Amaresh Jena said, “We never tried to create cracks within the party, rather we tried to fix it. We will definitely reply to the show-cause notice.”

“We respect the party’s decision of serving show-cause notice. May it be a grassroots worker or senior party leader, equal action should be taken against those who will create disturbance in the party. We have never opposed the party,” said Mahasupakar.

Earlier in the day, around 25 to 30 BJD corporators opposing Amaresh Jena and Biranchi Mahasupakar left for Lokanath temple in Puri in a bus.

Speaking to reporters, the corporators said that they went to have darshan of Lord Lokanath and wished that their prayer would be heard by the almighty. They even said that they have vowed to remain united.

Speculations are rife that the corporators have joined hands demanding action against Amaresh Jena and Biranchi Mahasupakar.
