BJD cheated Odisha women for 25 years: BJP

The women of the state rejected BJD because they were deceived for 25 years, said BJP’s Odisha co-in-charge Lata Usendi in Bhubaneswar on Monday. 

Usendi is in Bhubaneswar to attend the Subhadra Yojana’s inauguration programme at Janata Maidan. While answering the queries of journalists at the airport, she said BJD is now shorn of its woman vote bank. 

BJP is fulfilling its promises. The sisters of Odisha are fully encouraged. The number of beneficiaries that we promised will be included. The Prime Minister is visiting Odisha to seek blessings from the mothers and sisters, she said.

“The BJD is now devoid of its woman vote bank. It is now with the BJP. They (BJD) ruled for 25 years and during this period, they cheated the women. These sisters gave the mandate to the BJP. Subhadra Yojana is the policy to uplift the sisters financially and socially,” she said. 

Responding to Ushendi’s statement, BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena said, “Whatever they may do for the women, people have still Naveen Babu in their hearts. Women are always the voters of Naveen Babu.  They have love and affection for him. Let them first fulfil what they promised in their manifesto and give Subhadra money to all women of the state.”
