Birthday celebration goes wrong; 5 held for cutting cake with sword on Bhubaneswar street

Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested five youths including a minor on charges of cutting cake with a sword while celebrating birthday on Bhubaneswar street.

The action from the police came after a purported video of the birthday celebration went viral on various social media platforms.

In the video, around 15 to 20 youths can be seen using a sword to cut cake while celebrating birthday in the middle of the road in Nayapalli area.

All the people in the purported video are allegedly said to be the residents of Nayapalli area, sources informed.

Prior to this incident, a KBN (Koi Bhai Nahin) gang was in the news for a similar event last year. Several young members of the KBN group broadcasted the footage of them brandishing swords and sharp objects on social media. The video was shot on the streets of the State capital.
