Biraja haat to return to old location in Jajpur
Following many controversies and confrontations, it has been finally decided that Biraja haat in Jajpur district will return to its old place.
As per the decision by the district administration, Biraja haat will return to its old location near the Birja Temple from next Sunday on a temporary arrangement.
The decision has brought joy among the local farmers and traders. The decision was taken after a meeting with intellectuals, senior citizens, and temple servitors to resolve the dispute over the daily vegetable market.
Following the meeting on Thursday, Jajpur Collector P Anvesha Reddy informed about the development.
As per reports, the haat was shifted to the Sant Madhav area on January 19, 2024, to undertake the Biraja project work. However, after the change of government, farmers and traders had been demanding that the haat should be returned to its old location.
