Biker attacked with blades, looted, vehicle torched by miscreants in Odisha’s Daspalla

A biker was attacked with a blade and looted by a group of miscreants along Daspalla-Bhanjanagar road near Sakeni village in Nayagarh district on Tuesday morning.

According to sources, the miscreants also set the bike of victim on fire before fleeing the spot.

The victim has been identified as Jatia Behera of Khandapada village in Daspalla. He was reportedly on his way to Bhanjanagar for work when the incident occurred. Around eight unidentified assailants intercepted him near Sakeni, attacked him with a blade, and snatched away cash and belongings.

Locals found him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be stable now.

Police Investigation Underway

Following a formal complaint, police have launched an investigation into the incident. Search operations are underway to nab the culprits.

Victim Narrates Ordeal

“We were three people travelling on a bike when the miscreants in an SUV intercepted us near Sakeni area. They thrashed me and attacked with blades before decamping with the cash with me,” Behera said.
