Bike-borne miscreants on prowl in Bhubaneswar; chain snatching caught on cam

Increasing incidents of snatching in Bhubaneswar have now become a concern for the residents and a challenge for the law enforcing agencies. Women are more vulnerable as the snatchers are mainly targeting them during morning and evening hours in different parts of the Capital city.

In two such instances, bike-borne miscreants snatched gold chains from two women in Bhubaneswar in last two days. Visuals of both the incidents have been captured by CCTV cameras installed in the localities.

As per reports, two bike-borne miscreants snatched the gold chain from a woman when was walking on the road near Vani Vihar. She was carrying some goods in some bags.

In another similar incident, bike-born miscreants snatched the gold chain of a woman in at Laxmisagar area. From the CCTV footage, the woman is seen chasing the miscreants to retrieve her chain, but the miscreants fled on their bike.

After receiving two back-to-back complaints, the Commissionerate Police has started investigation into the incidents based on the CCTV footage.

Though Commissionerate police is claiming to have intensified patrolling, rise in such petty crimes have now become a cause of concern for the residents in Bhubaneswar.
