“The elevated corridor will be connected with the Jayadev Vihar flyover and a double-decker corridor plan has been made. On the first floor, there will be four lanes allowing movement of vehicles and on the second floor, it will be dedicated for the metro-rail project,” informed Harichandan.
The estimated cost of the elevated corridor project is around Rs 2,700 crore and is expected to address major traffic bottlenecks.
Sharing more details, the Minister informed that the construction is set to begin by the end of April, with work progressing in phases. The work is underway for the preparation of the Detail Project Report (DPR).
Apart from this, bypass roads will be developed at all major intersections to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize disruptions during construction.
The initiative is part of a broader infrastructure overhaul in Bhubaneswar, aiming to improve connectivity and provide a seamless commuting experience. Authorities have assured timely execution of the project, with necessary measures in place to minimize inconvenience to the public.
