RPF intensify ops for suspicious activity, persons at Bhubaneswar railway station
In the aftermath of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, railway stations across the country have been put on high alert, including the Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Authorities have significantly intensified security measures to ensure the safety of passengers and railway staff.
Security personnel, particularly the Railway Protection Force (RPF), on Monday conducted stringent checking operations throughout the Bhubaneswar Railway Station premises.
“We also urge passengers to inform if they come across any suspicious person or baggage at the platforms,” said a senior RPF official.
Sources confirmed that passengers are being subjected to thorough checks, and any suspicious individuals are being closely interrogated to prevent any potential threat.
The RPF teams have been instructed to remain extra vigilant, scrutinizing luggage and monitoring passenger movements using advanced surveillance systems.
Additional security personnel have been deployed at entry and exit points, platforms, and parking areas to maintain a strict vigil.
According to officials, the security checking process has been expedited and tightened following nationwide directives issued in response to the Pahalgam incident.
"We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure passengers’ safety. Every suspicious activity or individual is being carefully examined," an RPF official said.
Passengers have been requested to cooperate with security personnel during checks and to immediately report any unattended baggage or suspicious behaviour. Authorities have also issued advisories urging passengers to arrive early at the station to accommodate the additional time required for security screening.
Most passengers have expressed their support, acknowledging that the steps are necessary for public safety.
Meanwhile, rail services are continuing normally without any reported disruptions, though authorities are maintaining a close watch on all movements within the station.
The Bhubaneswar Railway Station remains on high alert, with officials emphasizing that security operations will continue at full intensity until further instructions are received from higher authorities.
