A couple was brutally attacked by knife-wielding miscreants late last night in the Saheed Nagar area of Bhubaneswar, leaving the duo grievously injured.
According to reports, unidentified men arrived unannounced and launched an attack on the couple, stabbing the woman and severely assaulting her husband with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.
Panicked onlookers then rushed to the aid of the couple and found the woman with stab wounds in her abdomen and the man lying in a pool of blood. The injured couple was then admitted to Capital Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment, as per the last reports.
Police later arrived at the scene and examined the situation. As of yet, the identities of both the attackers and the victims have not been ascertained. Further, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, but police have launched an investigation and are trying to ascertain the circumstances leading to the assault.

Youth Murdered in Sambalpur
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Sambalpur, a young man was murdered near Cheruapada Farm Road under the Town police station limits.
As per sources, miscreants fatally stabbed the youth, identified as Uttam Bhoi of the same locality. The assailants allegedly attacked Uttam with a knife, stabbing him in the back near the ATMA office of the Agriculture Department.
He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition, but was declared brought dead by doctors.
Following the incident, tension prevailed at the hospital. As per the last reports, Sambalpur Town police have detained a youth named Kahna in connection with the murder and are interrogating him. However, the exact reason behind the attack remains unclear.
