The CBI has filed a charge sheet against a Bhubaneswar-based YouTuber for allegedly using ‘forged’ letters from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to support her claims regarding veteran actress Sridevi’s death.

According to the news agency PTI, Deepti R Pinniti, based in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar, and her lawyer Bharath Suresh Kamath have been very active on social media on the death of actors Sridevi and Sushant Singh Rajput.

Deepti made sensational claims and accused the Modi government and the UAE government of ‘covering up’ Sridevi’s death. She used forged documents to support her claims and made YouTube videos.

Based on a complaint by the PMO’s office, CBI had conducted searches at her residence in Bhubaneswar and seized her phones and laptops. According to CBI’s report, the investigation revealed the documents presented by Deepti during her YouTube discussions were ‘forged’.

Deepti has been accused of maligning the image of the Modi government by accusing it of being the sponsor of the death of actress Sridevi.

The CBI has filed a charge sheet against Deepti and her lawyer Kamath under relevant sections of IPC including 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 465, 469, and 471.]

Meanwhile, Deepti has expressed disbelief. PTI quoted her as saying, “It’s kind of hard to believe that the CBI has filed a charge sheet against me without recording my statement. Moreover, the evidence will be given to court when charges are framed.”

She continued, “When the letters in question are incriminating against the very authorities under whom the CBI comes, CBI becomes a party of conflict to be the entity to collect evidence.”

Worth mentioning, Sridevi died in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in February 2018.
