Berhampur mayor's dance on ‘Naveen Babu' song at dandia programme goes viral

A video of Berhmapur Mayor Sanghamitra Dalei dancing in a dandia programme, that too on ‘Naveen Babu Ame Tuma Fan' song, has gone viral. The programme was organised on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami on Tuesday. 
The song ‘Naveen Babu Ame Tuma Fan’ is reportedly played at several Biju Janata Dal (BJD) programmes and campaigns.   

The mayor had even posted the video of the dance on her social media handle. 

Berhampur MP Chandrashekhar Sahoo, MLA Bikram Panda, district planning board chairperson and BJD’s district unit president, Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik were present in the programme.  

Since the song is most often played at various programs of the BJD in the state, the video elicited mixed reactions as some have frowned upon the use of such a song in an auspicious dandia programme. 

As the dancing video of the mayor triggered a discussion on social media, the mayor deleted the video from her handle. 
However, the reaction of the mayor has not been received.
