Basant Biswal’s ouster from BJD demanded

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

The Paradip Biju Janata Dal (BJD) faces a deeper rift as supporters of former MLA Sambit Routray demand the ouster of Paradip town president Basant Biswal.

Press Meet

The rift in the Paradip BJD has widened further with the supporters of former MLA Sambit Routray demanding Paradip town president Basant Biswal’s ouster from the party.

Besides demanding the ouster of Biswal, Routray’s supporters have also clamoured for the expulsion of former MP Dr Kulamani Samal and state general secretary Pramod Kishore Jena from the party.

As per the allegation of Routray’s supporters, in the last elections, Basant Biswal, Kulamani Samal and Pramod Kishore Jena were involved in anti-party activities contributing to BJD candidates’ failure.

“Basant Biswal had organised a meeting at Shramik Bhawan, Paradip on Sept 11. There we realised the conspiracy he had made to split the party.

Today we are demanding his ouster from the party. Or else, he would cause the death of Paradip Biju Janata Dal,” alleged Rashmi Ranjan Parida, a BJD leader.

No reactions were received from Basant Biswal or other BJD leaders.
