The Cuttack district administration and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) are gearing up to host the historic Bali Yatra festival scheduled to be held in the Millennium City from November 27 to December 4.

A preparatory meeting chaired by Cuttack collector, Bhabani Shankar Chayani, for the biggest trade fair in the state was held on Thursday. It was attended by Senior officials of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), RDC (Central), Cuttack DCP and CDA Chairman.

In the meeting, emphasis was laid on the seamless conduct of the mega event that draws lakhs of visitors to the Millennium City. This time stress will be given on the security and visitor-friendly amenities.

Speaking at the meeting, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani said, “We are going to hold world-famous Bali Yatra from November 27 to December 4. This was the second meeting for the mega fair. We have decided to increase the number of ORMAS stalls this year. Apart from that, we will try to showcase the rural Cuttack in a special enclosure this time.”

Bali Yatra is held annually in Cuttack to commemorate the glorious tradition of seafaring activities of ancient Odia traders.
