Odisha CM Mohan Majhi
In a significant announcement, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Tuesday announced that the much-awaited Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme will be implemented in the state within the next two weeks, ensuring better healthcare facilities for people in the state.
The CM made the announcement during a special program held at Satyabhamapur, where the Chief Minister highlighted the benefits of the scheme and its impact on the state's healthcare system.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi stated that the scheme will provide medical coverage to approximately 3 crore 52 lakh people across Odisha. Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive cashless treatment in hospitals, easing their financial burden in times of medical emergencies.
One of the most significant aspects of the scheme is its widespread accessibility, ensuring that people can avail treatment not only in hospitals within Odisha but also in reputed medical institutions outside the State. This move aims to provide advanced healthcare options to those requiring specialized treatment beyond state boundaries.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that the scheme will be applicable in over 29,000 hospitals across the country, enabling beneficiaries to receive quality healthcare services without financial constraints. This will particularly benefit people from economically weaker sections, rural communities, and those facing difficulties in accessing expensive medical care.
The announcement has been widely welcomed by citizens and healthcare experts, as it marks a major step toward strengthening Odisha’s healthcare infrastructure.
The Odisha government is expected to coordinate with medical institutions and healthcare providers to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.
With the launch of Ayushman Bharat in Odisha, the Odisha government aims to bridge healthcare gaps, provide financial relief to families, and ensure quality treatment for all, irrespective of their economic status.
The initiative is expected to transform the healthcare landscape of the state, bringing much-needed medical security to millions of people.
