Avail compensatory attempt in Odisha Civil Services Exam-2024! Check details
The Odisha Government on Monday accorded one more compensatory attempt to the aspirants to appear in the Odisha Civil Services and Combined Competitive Examinations, 2024.

Consequent upon introduction of UPSC pattern in the OCS Examination, it was decided by the Government in the past to allow additional compensatory attempts to appear in the OCSE -2016, OCSE-2017, OCSE-2018, OCSE-2019, OCSE-2020, OCSE- 2021, OCSE-2022 and OCSE-2023, irrespective of maximum age limit and attempt of the candidates.
In spite of this, there are number of representations received from some OCS Examination aspirants to allow them additional chances to appear in the OCSE- 2024 irrespective of their maximum age limit or maximum attempt.
Moreover, the State government allowed candidates to write the answers in Odia except language papers in the OCS examinations from the year 2023 by bringing the Odisha Civil Services (Method of Examination in Odia Medium) Rules, 2022.
“Notwithstanding anything contained in the said Rules, the intending candidates who had appeared in OCSE-2021 and/or OCSE-2022 and/or OCSE-2023 but are otherwise ineligible to appear/compete in the OCSE-2024, on account of attainment of upper age limit and/or exhaustion of the attempts prescribed under Odisha Civil Services (Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination) Rules, 1991, shall be allowed one more additional compensatory attempt for appearing in OCSE-2024,” an official source mentioned.

Notably, no further additional compensatory attempt to appear the OCS Examination shall be allowed in future. This announcement shall come into force with immediate effect.
