The Smart City Online Auto Association has decided to go on a strike on Thursday protesting the alleged humiliation by agitating bus drivers on Wednesday.

Around 10,000 auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers will remain off road tomorrow to participate in the strike.

As per reports, auto-rickshaw drivers did not participate in the drivers' association strike today and some of them were allegedly humiliated by the bus drivers, who made them hold placards with derogatory statements written on them. The auto-rickshaw drivers were garlanded too.

Over five lakh drivers across the State took part in the indefinite strike from today to press for the fulfillment of their various demands that include social security including pension, insurance, and death benefits.

Many agitators were found staging demonstrations in different parts of the State including in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. They were found sitting on the National Highway and shouting slogans regarding the fulfillment of their demands.

However, it has been alleged that the protesting drivers who picketed the roads connecting Bhubaneswar, heckled auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers who did not participate in the strike.
