Jayanarayan Mishra, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) has again come up with a new theory regarding the sensational murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das.

Mishra on Thursday said that Odisha Police had earlier claimed to have found a diary of Gopal Das, the dismissed Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) who has been arrested on charges of killing the minister.

“Gopal is not such a big shot who will write a diary. It is creating some suspicion. It appears that Odisha Police is trying to write something in the diary indicating that Gopal Das has committed the offence over personal enmity and no other person is involved,” alleged Mishra.

The Odisha Government is trying to shield the accused and there is a big conspiracy behind the murder case, alleged Mishra.

On the other hand, senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra today stated that till now it is not known why the Odisha Health Minister Naba Das was murdered and there is suspicion over the entire matter.

According to Mishra, the Odisha government had admitted that there is conspiracy, but the Chief Minister and the Minister of State (Home) have not spoken anything on it.

“Investigation is going on over the conspiracy but the state government is hiding it. There is suspicion, who is the suspect?,” said Mishra.

The senior Congress leader claimed that, “One cabinet minister was killed by a police personnel and it is not a small incident. So far the motive is not clear. I had advised the government to ensure that there is daily press conference by Crime Branch so that people of Odisha know the development. As per High Court judgement, the investigation is baseless unless it is accepted by the people .”

Responding to the allegations levelled by the Opposition, Revenue Minister Pramila Mallik said, “After the investigation is complete, Crime Branch will submit its final report. Unless it is complete, it is not worthwhile that the Crime Branch gives daily briefs on the probe. It is the habit of the Opposition to make allegations and counter the government.”
