The CM has reiterated that no guilty party will be spared and directed law enforcement agencies to pursue the investigation with full rigidity and neutrality.

According to sources, in response to the recent attack on the Additional Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Odisha’s Chief Minister has directed authorities to take strong and immediate action against the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra has condemned the attack, describing it as deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

“This incident has not only pained me but also shaken our administration. The government condemns the act in the strongest terms,” the Minister stated. He affirmed that the law will take its course, and those involved will face appropriate legal consequences.

So far, three individuals have been arrested, including a sitting corporator.

“Even if they belong to our party, BJP will take internal action. No one is above the law,” the H&UD Minister added. The State government emphasised that obstructing public officials in the line of duty is a serious offense.

Allegedly, BJD has been politicising the incident, but the State government insists it is solely focused on upholding law and order. “You have seen how the previous (BJD-led) government had been responding to crimes, and now you see the current one. Within hours of the incident, arrests were made,” the Minister remarked.

The administration has also stressed the importance of safeguarding public servants and ensuring respect for their roles. “Providing a safe working environment and respect for officials is the government’s duty, and we are fully alert,” the Minister added.

Police probe is underway, and officials assured that no leniency will be shown, regardless of the accused's political or personal affiliations.
