Actress Varsha Priyadarshini on Monday appeared before the Cuttack Family Court for recording her statement in a case pertaining to marital discord between her and her actor-turned-politician husband Anubhav Mohanty.

Although the court had issued notices to both Varsha and Anubhav for appearance, the former deposed before it while the latter gave it a miss.

According to sources, the statement recording process was carried out earlier and Varsha appeared before the court for three consecutive days. As her final statement was not recorded, she has been summoned again to record her statement on Monday.

Anubhav was not supposed to record his statement. That’s why he might have missed the court hearing, claimed sources.

On basis of Varsha’s statement, the court will advance the hearing in the divorce case.

It may be mentioned that while Varsha is against the divorce, her husband and Kendrapara MP wants to get separated from her.

Notably, while hearing the Anubhav-Varsha marital discord on August 30, the court had directed the actress to vacate her husband Anubhav Mohanty's residence in Cuttack.

Later, on September 13 Varsha had informed the Cuttack district judge court that she would vacate her in-laws’ house within a month. Since the deadline ended on September 30, she vacated the house for good.

Earlier on August 17, the Orissa High Court had directed Varsha to appear before the Delhi Police within 15 days in connection with a case filed against her for allegedly making casteist remarks against a staff of her husband and BJD MP Anubhav.
