Even as the death of two Russian nationals in Rayagada is still shrouded in mystery, another Russian was found dead in Odisha in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The Russian national was found dead in a ship that was at the anchorage of Paradip port in Jagatsinghpur district. He was identified as Sergy Milyakov (51), who was the chief engineer of the ship.

While it is yet to be ascertained what led to the death of Sarjai, the port authorities are yet to clarify it. But from the unconfirmed sources, heart attack has been blamed for the death.

“It will be too early to say anything about it. We are enquiring into it and then we can say anything about it,” said the chairman of Paradip Port Authority (PPA), PL Haranadh.

Meanwhile, Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal said, “If required, Crime Branch probe will be ordered.”

The said ship had come from Chittagong port in Bangladesh to Paradip port for iron ore. It was supposed to go to Mumbai.

It is pertinent to mention here that last month two Russian tourists died under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Rayagada district

Four Russian tourists came to Rayagada and stayed in a hotel on December 21. On December 22, one of them identified as Vladimir Bidenov was found dead. Two days later on December 24, Pavel Antov was found dead.
The Crime Branch is investigating the case.

Meanwhile, another Russian citizen was on December 31 found loitering at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Later, he was picked up by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

When he was spotted, he was holding a placard in which he had sought help stating that he is homeless and against the war (Russia-Ukraine war). The placard displayed by the demonstrator, mentioned that he is against President Vladimir Putin.
