Angry farmer detains bull for 7 days for eating his harvest-ready maize crop in Odisha
In an unusual turn of events, a farmer allegedly detained a bull for seven days for eating his ready-to-harvest maize crop. The animal was left unattended tied to a tree for almost one week until it was finally rescued. The bizarre incident has been reported from Kodabhata village under Raighar block of Nabarangpur district.
According to sources, the farmer had cultivated maize in a huge field. In search of food, the bull strayed into the field and fed on his standing crop. Irate over this, the farmer caught the bull and tied it to a tree inside his field.
The farmer allegedly threatened the bull owner and others who tried to release it. Fearing him, no one dared to release the bull leaving it starving for several days under the tree. After almost one week, a few youths of the village came to its rescue and informed police about the incident.
The incident has triggered resentment over the actions of the farmer. The cops have left the farmer with a warning.
Recently, a 15-foot python was bludgeoned to death in a village in Odisha. Later, several persons were arrested in connection with the incident.
