The posts of contractual Anganwadi supervisors will be regularized in Odisha. The state Cabinet approved the proposal for the regularization of 504 contractual Supervisors of the Women and Child Development Department on Thursday. 

As per reports, with the regularization of their services, the supervisors are expected to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services and support to vulnerable children and women under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programmes. The job regularization of contractual Anganwadi supervisors would result in an additional burden of Rs.18.51 crore annually.  

Moreover, the Cabinet approved the proposal for further amendment of the Odisha Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019 to increase the number of public health facilities in the State and increase in patient-load at government healthcare facilities.

The cabinet has approved the creation of additional posts and restructuring of the Multipurpose Health Worker (Male) Service cadre. The existing cadre strength of 6,538 has now increased to 12,341.

The Cabinet also approved the establishment of the State Water Informatics Centre (SWIC), Odisha, to provide a comprehensive repository of hydro-meteorological data for the state.

The SWIC will function under the Department of Water Resources and seamlessly collaborate with the National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC) to facilitate the exchange of hydro-meteorological data between the central and state governments.

Besides, the Cabinet gave its approval to the framing of the Odisha Radiographer Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024 to re-structure the cadre of Radiographers.

Out of 695 base-level posts of Radiographer, 40 posts shall stand abolished in lieu of the creation of 479 posts at different levels in the cadre hierarchy.

The Cabinet also approved framing of Odisha Laboratory Technician Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024, to re-structure the cadre of Laboratory Technicians. Out of 2235 base-level posts of Laboratory Technician, 790 posts are abolished in lieu of the creation of 1030 posts at different levels in the cadre hierarchy.
 
Framing of Odisha Pharmacist Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024, was approved by the Cabinet so as to provide better healthcare service to the people.  

Restructuring of Odisha Nursing Service Cadre and further Amendment of Odisha Nursing Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019 was also approved by the Cabinet to re-structure the cadre of nursing officers.
