Amulya Padhan appointed Odisha Board of Secondary Education vice-president

Amulya Kumar Padhan was appointed Vice-President of BSE-Odisha, Cuttack, amidst a series of education department transfers and the backdrop of the OTET question paper leak case involving former VP Nihar Mohanty. The School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department also effected a few more transfers and postings in the Board vide an official notification.

Amulya Kumar Padhan, OES (SB) (Group A), presently working as the RDE in Sambalpur, was transferred on Thursday and has been posted as the Vice-President, Board of Secondary Education (BSE)-Odisha, Cuttack, under Foreign Service terms and conditions.

The School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department issued a notification in this regard.

Similarly, Chakradhar Behera, OES (SB) (Group A) (Senior) UoT, presently working as ADEO in Nabarangpur, was transferred and has been posted as the Deputy Controller, BSE-Odisha, Cuttack. He was allowed to remain in charge of the Controller, BSE-Odisha, Cuttack, until further orders under Foreign Service terms and conditions.

Previous posting of Chakradhar Behera vide S&ME Department notification No.-10109/SME, dated 07.04.2025 was cancelled, the notification mentioned.

Likewise, Amrita Pritinanda, OES (SB) (Group A) (ST), Controller of Examination, BSE-Odisha, Cuttack, was transferred and has been posted as Joint Director, State Institute for Languages and Teachers Training (SILTT)-Bhubaneswar, under Foreign Service terms and conditions.

Besides, the additional charge of Govinda Chandra Hembram, Headmaster of Government High School, Chandrasekharpur, Phase-I, Bhubaneswar, as Assistant Director of SILTT, vide the Department notification No.-15307/SME, dated 04.06.2025, was also cancelled.

Worth mentioning, the Crime Branch had arrested former BSE vice-president Nihar Mohanty on August 3 in connection with the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak case.

A detailed probe has revealed that the question paper leak was facilitated through a data entry operator working with the examination board. The prime accused, Jitan Maharana, a Data Entry Operator, is believed to have played a major role in the leak.

Crime Branch sources earlier confirmed that Rs 2.4 lakh was transferred into Maharana’s bank account, establishing a clear financial link to the illegal activity.
