Union Home Minister and former BJP National President Amit Shah will be visiting Odisha on March 26, informed party's state unit general secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar on Saturday.

Briefing the itinerary of Shah's visit, Samantsinghar said, "The Home Minister will first visit the Akhandalamani shrine. Later, he will attend a public meeting at Dhamanagar in Bhadrak district."

Over 50,000 people and workers from the Bhadrak Lok Sabha constituency will attend the meeting, the saffron party leader informed.

According to Lekhashree, Shah will also hold consultations with senior party leaders and other office bearers in Bhubaneswar, later in the day.

“Everybody is aware of the situation in Odisha. Amit Shah has been extending all possible assistance to the state and leading us from the front. His visit will certainly give Odisha a boost and infuse new energy among the party workers,” said Lekhashree.

Amit Shah’s visit assumes much significance ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.

“BJD is maintaining double standards and the issues raised by them in the state are not highlighted before Central leaders. They are only misleading the people of the state. If BJD wants to do something for the people of Odisha, they should discuss with the Central government," she added.

BJD leaders could not be contacted over Lekashree's comments.
