State BJP president Manmohan Samal and BJD MLA Sushant Singh
The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday demanded the arrest of Bhatli’s BJD MLA Sushant Singh for his alleged involvement in the Ambabhona police station vandalism case.
Addressing a press conference, state BJP president Manmohan Samal said a team of police personnel raided the party as they were tipped off about drug abuse in the picnic party. Later, Sushant Singh reached there. Then, his supporters were called in. Thereafter, they ransacked the police station in the presence of Singh. He should be arrested, alleged Samal.
BJP Yuva Morcha president Irasis Acharya also demanded the arrest of Sushant Singh. He demanded the arrest of Singh or the Chief Minister resign from the Chief Minister’s post.
Notably, a group of 25 to 30 youths reportedly stormed into Ambabhona police station in Bargarh district and vandalized the PS on Sunday.
Acting on a tipoff about drug abuse in the picnic party, a team of police personnel swooped down on a picnic party, but had to return empty handed as they could not get anything related to the tipoff. Later, a heated argument ensued between the youths and the police.
A few minutes later, those youths allegedly came to the police station and resorted to vandalism- broke tables, chairs and window panes, and fled from the spot.
