Members of All Odisha Online Bike Service Association
The All Odisha Online Bike Service Association on Friday took up the cudgels against the Regional Transport Office for imposing a ban on bikers providing two-wheeler taxi service with private number plates.
The association demanded the Chief Minister's intervention in connection with the matter.
“We have been providing services since 2017-18 when Rapido started its service. The bikers who are providing taxi service are well-educated. They are in the business to earn something. After working for eight hours, they can hardly earn Rs 300 to 400. As if it was not enough, the RTO is asking us to run the service with yellow plates,” said an agitating member of the association.
“We are ready to obey RTO’s direction. But we should get the yellow registration plates at not more than Rs 1000. This apart, the same rule should also be applicable for those who are working with food service aggregators since they are also doing commercial business,” he said.
“We are against using yellow registration plates. I would like to request our Chief Minister to intervene and solve our problem,” he added.
