Puri Srimandir
Odisha government has decided to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) based technology at Puri Srimandir to control the crowd, informed Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain on Wednesday.
AI technology will be used to ensure smooth darshan of the devotees. The tender process for it has already been started.
“The process is underway to use advanced technology for proper management in Srimandir. An expression of interest has been floated by the temple administration for the purpose. AI-based cameras will be installed near four dwaras, ‘Baisi Pahacha’, ‘Gumuta’ and ‘Kirtana Chakada’ of Srimandir so that we will get digital information about various things. The AI-based technology will be able to detect mobile phones and other stuff carried by devotees inside the temple,” said Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.
“We had held a discussion with the Collector about the safety and security of Srimandir. We are taking the help of different technologies in this regard. To control the crowd and ensure smooth darshan of devotees, AI-based technology will be used,” said Puri SP Pinak Mishra.
As per reports, the sophisticated technology will ensure the safety of devotees, crowd control, and orderly darshan of Lord Jagannath and the deities. It will also provide instant information digitally on how many devotees have entered the temple and how many devotees are waiting for darshan.
