The Commissionerate Police is back in action mode ahead of the puja festival in the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. In a sweeping crackdown on illegal ‘adaas’, the Commissionerate Police has begun simultaneous raids at several locations across the state Capital.

The raids are part of a special operation aimed at dismantling illegal gatherings, crime spots, and identification of smuggling and criminal networks. Ahead of the festive season, the Commissionerate Police has intensified surprise raids and massive checking on illegal aadas, clubs, pubs, and dancer bars for a peaceful puja festival.

The initiative is part of the Commissionerate Police’s effort to arrest criminals and troublemakers during Diwali and Dussehra 2024.

The surprise raids are being conducted at several places in Mancheswar, Khandagiri, Laxmisagar, and Badgada. The raids were also conducted near Sainik School, Raghunathpur, and the Infocity area. Till now, over 20 suspects have been detained by the raid teams during the raids, reports said.

On the other hand, the MVI team has also launched a massive checking and blocking drive in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Several vehicles have been seized over alleged violations of various traffic rules, reports said.
