Thousands of members of the Odisha Government Outsourcing Employees Federation staged a protest in Bhubaneswar on Monday demanding equal pay-equal work among other things.

As per reports, the employees took out the march in Bhubaneswar and congregated at Lower PMG square after staging similar protests in Sambalpur and Cuttack earlier this month.

Apart from equal-pay-equal-work, the demands include job security and salary hike.

"The government does not have any dearth of funds. What they do not have is the willpower. We have put forth 10 demands before the government,” said the Federation’s Convenor, Prabhat Mohanty.

It is worthwhile to mention here that, the Service Provider Agencies (SPAs) of the Odisha government were put under ‘Mo Sarkar ’ in February this year.

The government had decided to felicitate those agencies that are giving salaries to their employees regularly and properly. If any organisation is found to be falling behind as far as staff remuneration is concerned, they will be flagged and if required, those agencies will be black-listed, informed sources.
