The Nayapalli police on Thursday detained two youths on charges of misbehaving with the Indian Coast Guard DIG and his family. The DIG, SR Das, and his family were in a car when the ‘tipsy’ youths misbehaved with them.

Swinging into action, Nayapalli police immediately detained the two youths. Newly appointed police commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh himself met DIG Das and assessed the situation.

According to sources, Das and his family were on their way home by car when the two youths misbehaved with them near Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

“They were two of them in inebriated condition. I was in the traffic, they stopped their vehicle in front of mine. I requested them to give me space so that I could take a U-turn. However, they misbehaved with me; so, I had come here to lodge a police complaint,” the Coast Guard DIG said.
