As Cuttack continues to struggle to curb the menace of food adulteration, the enforcement squad of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) raided the Malgodown on Tuesday and seized more than five quintals of adulterated spices.

The seized spices included turmeric powder, red chili powder, and cumin powder.

As per reports, acting on a tip-off, the enforcement squad raided a goods shed in Malgodown and seized the adulterated food items from a shop.

After the seizure, the shop was sealed by the CMC.

Earlier in July, the CMC health squad had busted a unit engaged in the manufacturing of adulterated spices in the same Malgodown area in the city. One person, who was said to be the owner of the unit, was detained in this connection.
