The annual tribal cultural festival-‘Aadi Fest’ came to an end in Baripada on Sunday. However, local residents have expressed their disappointment over the short duration of the performance by Bollywood star Govinda in the cultural extravaganza.

As per reports, Govinda was the special attraction on the concluding day of the cultural festival organised by the Special Development Council, Mayurbhanj. Hundreds of people had turned up to witness Govinda’s performance on the occasion. The Bollywood star captivated the audience by dancing to the tunes of some of his popular songs.

However, the local people present on the occasion expressed their disappointment over the brief period of performance by the actor. They alleged that though the government had spent crores of rupees on the cultural festival, it left them disappointed. Some of the spectators even alleged that the hosts were responsible for the Bollywood star's short duration of performance.

“We had come to the programme only to witness the performance of Govinda. However, the Bollywood star danced only in a few songs. It disappointed us,” rued an audience.

“The main attraction of the programme was Govinda. Hundreds of people had come to witness his performance. However, we were disappointed due to the brief period of performance by him,” said another audience.

However, the allegations have been refuted by the organisers- Special Development Council.

“It’s nothing like that. Govinda graced the programme to motivate and inspire the tribals. Apart from his performance in the programme, he also announced to give a break to the interested tribals in his movie. It’s a great opportunity for us,” said Odisha Special Development Council Chairman, Pradeep Majhi.
