The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention was graced by a diverse gathering of NRIs from across the globe, featuring several distinguished guests. Around 5,000 delegates from different corners of the world have attended the grand convention.

Among the prominent attendees is the celebrated writer, Prafulla Mohanty. At the age of 90, he is the oldest participant at the convention. In an inspiring display of determination, he travelled from London despite being confined to a wheelchair.

As the vibrant gathering unfolded, Mr. Mohanty’s presence was a poignant reminder of the enduring bond shared by Indians globally, transcending geographical and physical barriers. His dedication to being part of the event serves as an inspiration, showcasing the spirit of resilience and commitment shared by Indians worldwide.

“Although I stay abroad and became famous, deep in my heart resides my country India, even deeper stays my state Odisha and my village. I can never be a ‘Pravasi’, I will always be an Indian,” said an emotional Mohanty.

The convention offers a platform for NRIs to connect and exchange ideas on various cultural, social, and economic issues. Participants have the opportunity to engage in discussions that resonate with their shared heritage and interests.
