70-year-old habisyali dies in Puri

A 70-year-old habisyali, who was undergoing treatment at Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Ratanmani Mangaraj of Bentha village under Kansa block in Puri district.

She was residing in Brundabati Niwas for the month-long Kartik brata. According to sources, the elderly habisyali was resting after darshan at Puri Srimandir when her health deteriorated. Sources said, she fell down in the bathroom and had to be admitted to Puri DHH.

However, she died while undergoing treatment.

“We were informed that she was not well and was admitted to the hospital. However, doctors attended her very late. They did not even provide saline and we had to buy it from outside,” alleged the habisyali’s daughter.

“She was admitted to Puri DHH after she slipped and fell in the bathroom. Her urea and creatine were high. Maybe she was not aware of her health condition,” informed Puri DHH CDMO Binod Bihari Rath.
