6 months on, no action on lady lecturer’s allegation of misbehaviour by VSSUT professor
Concerns are now being expressed over inordinate delay over the slow pace of the probe into the allegations of misbehaviour levelled by a lady lecturer against a professor at VSSUT in Sambalpur.
Though the complainant had lodged such allegations some six months back, no action has been taken yet.
Both the victim and the accused are said to be from the same department.
As per norms, the matter was first reported to the Internal Complaints Committee and it has been learnt that the report in connection with the incident has been submitted to the then Vice-Chancellor by the committee.
Later, a one-man committee was formed to probe the allegations in the second phase.
The report is likely to be tabled at the Board of Management Committee meeting. As the meeting is yet to be held, it is expected that once the meeting of the Board of Management is held, the vice-chancellor will be approached for necessary action.
In another incident, there has been a twist in the allegations levelled by some students, who had submitted a petition to Odisha Governor against some professors.
The VSSUT officials informed that the students have informed them that the signatures in the petition don’t belong to them. Hence, an investigation is being conducted in this regard.
