5T Secretary VK Pandian’s Khordha visit opposed

It seems that opposition and other organisations are not in a mood to miss any chance to oppose the 5T Secretary VK Pandian’s visit to several parts of Odisha. This time it was the turn of Naba Nirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan to protest the 5T Secretary’s visit to Khordha district on Wednesday.

The 5T Secretary VK Pandian had come to attend a programme at Khudupur ground in Jatani area in Khordha district today.

As per initial reports, Naba Nirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan members wore black clothes and raised slogans against the 5T Secretary. A scuffle also broke out between the members of the organisation and police personnel when the protestors tried to march towards the programme venue. Keeping in view the situation, police subsequently escorted the organisation members away from the spot.

The members had earlier kept 10-point charter of demands and announced to stage a protest if their demands are not met ahead of the 5T Secretary’s visit to the district.

“We had presented our memorandum and as no step was taken to resolve our demands, we were forced to stage demonstration today. Our demands include employment and other issues concerning students and farmers,” said a member of the organisation adding that they would continue with their agitation.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Opposition parties have also mounted attack on the 5T Secretary, his whirlwind tours to several districts and chopper rides. The 5T Secretary had also faced an ink attack during his recent visit to Puri’s Satyabadi area.
