The protest against the whirlwind tours of 5T Secretary VK Pandian to several parts of Odisha continues to escalate with each passing day.

A day after the egg attack in Sonepur, the 5T Secretary faced protests in Boudh district on Wednesday. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists staged a black flag protest against the 5T Secretary’s visit to Ambagaon village in Kantamal block.

The BJP activists also raised ‘Pandian Go Back’ slogans and tried to storm into the 5T Secretary’s meeting venue. However, the activists were stopped by the police which led to a brief scuffle.

BJP Yuva Morcha state general secretary Om Prakash Mishra said, “Who is VK Pandian and what right he has? He has kept CM under house arrest and is trying to hijack the governance.”

Mishra further alleged that elected representatives, who were voted by the people, are now missing and arranging tents and chairs for the Secretary’s visit in the state.

BJP leader Rakash Tripathy said, “We are opposing the undemocratic visit of the 5T Secretary. The way local leaders are making arrangements, we are confused whether a secretary-rank officer is coming or the CM himself.”

On Tuesday, eggs were hurled at Pandian’s carcade near Kota Samalei-Ulunda road in Sonepur district.
