“As home guards are doing good work in Odisha, I am directing the department to create 5,000 home guard posts in the State. Necessary steps in this direction should be taken immediately and the recruitment process should start,” said CM Majhi.

“The home guards have often demanded that the salary provided to them for their service is not enough. Our government has decided to increase their salary and other financial assistance. It will be implemented soon,” he added.

Earlier in August, CM Majhi had announced extension of compassionate appointment to home guards killed in the line of duty.

“A member of the family of a home guard killed in Naxal violence or in similar incidents will be provided government job,” CM Majhi had said.
